Our high school ministry is called 'The Vine'. Our goal is to help people come to know and love God. We seek to help each other desire to grow in closeness in our relationship with Christ Jesus, as well as grow in our friendships with one another. It is within the community as a family of believers that we are stronger together. We talk about current cultural concerns, look at the big life questions, talk about why faith in Jesus matters, and show what it looks like to live out our faith in a world that is ever-growing in godlessness. We want everyone to know they are loved. We want them to see and appreciate the beautiful, rich traditions we possess as Catholics, the grace and power of the sacraments, what it means to be a beloved child of God made in His image, how to pray, and how to keep in step with the Holy Spirit. Our high school ministry is a place where ALL are welcome! Whether you are Catholic or not, Confirmed or not, or just plain curious, in the words of our Lord and Savior, "Come and see!"
CALENDAR OF EVENTS COMING SOON!
High School Ministry's weekly event is called "The Vine." After the 5:00 pm Sunday Mass, we gather in the Holy Family Center where we eat dinner and have time to connect and socialize. After we eat, we spend time in praise, read from scripture, pray, discuss Church teachings, and have a short talk on the reading and the topic. We then break into small groups for discussion with study questions to go deeper into what the Word of God and the teachings of the Church may be speaking to us.
Jesus said, "Remain in me, as I remain in you. Just as a branch cannot bear fruit on its own unless it remains on the vine, so neither can you unless you remain in me." -John 15:4 The Vine is where we remind each other how much we need Jesus and why we need the Church. It's a refuge of peace from our busy schedules and all of life's many distractions.
Our goal is to help one another see how the study and application of God's Word, the teachings of the Church, prayer, and the Holy Spirit are essential for us to grow in spiritual maturity and in our walks of faith. This is a place to bring your questions, invite your friends, wrestle through your doubts, have some fun, and come to know the love of God the Father.
Wherever you may be in your faith and place in life, you are always welcome here.
