The Four Pillars THAT DEFINE WHO WE ARE
- Spiritual Expectations
  
  The vision of St. John Neumann Parish is to be a beacon of light drawing people home. The light we shine is the light of Christ, and as beacons we make that light visible and prominent in our community and in the world – the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it (John 1:5). To be a beacon of light, we must be love in the world. We are called to love because God is love (1 John 4:8). In a world of distraction and division, people need to know first that they are loved, and second that they are called to be a beacon of that love to share with the world.
  
  To draw people home, we must provide a home. A home should be safe, sacred, an intimate place to rest, to grow, to find nourishment and community. SJN desires to be both a spiritual home where everyone is welcome, as well as a physical home where individuals and families can escape the worries of the world and find safety with one another in the beautiful spaces God has given us. We believe that everyone is called to be on a spiritual journey, and what matters is not where a person is on that journey, but that they are on the journey itself. Therefore, we seek to welcome all people.
  
  We are a Catholic Christian community of disciples of Jesus Christ. To help us achieve this mission we have identified the four pillars that parishioners can expect from the parish, and the parish can expect from parishioners.

  A place where you experience reverent and beautiful liturgies.
  An intimate place to pray and worship that draws you to Christ.
  PARISHIONERS
  As Catholics, the Universal Church asks us to:
  To regularly attend and actively participate in Mass on Sundays and Holy Days of Obligation to take part in a foretaste of the heavenly celebration in heaven.
  To engage in prayer as the breath of faith, entrusting themselves daily to God.
  To live fully the sacramental life of the Church and receive the grace poured forth upon us for our sanctification in Christ and for the glorification of God.

  PARISH
  A place where you have many opportunities to be transformed into the person God has created you to be.
  A place where you are encouraged to discover your unique gifts and talents.
  PARISHIONERS
  To become a disciple of Jesus Christ by participating in the liturgy and a small faith community
  To share the Gospel and invite others to grow in faith with us.
  
  Connect
  PARISH
  A place where you are loved throughout your spiritual journey.
  A community where you find people to accompany you on the journey of life.
  A place where the physical and spiritual spaces foster the ability for you to connect with God, yourself, and the community.
  PARISHIONERS
  To be an integral part of our parish family by our participation in the liturgical life of the church and small faith communities.
  To share Christ’s love with others by embodying the fruits of the Holy Spirit.
  To develop a culture of invitation and draw others to authentic friendships.
  
  Serve
  PARISH
  A place where you are appreciated and recognized for your unique gifts and talents.
  A place where your financial gifts are treasured.
  A place where your time is respected, and your service valued.
  PARISHIONERS
  To serve God and one another by being involved in our parish ministries.
  To give out of gratitude to God to support our parish, and so that we can help the poor and provide more programs to help others grow.
