- Does your high school teen want to be confirmed?
  
  Welcome! Teen Confirmation registration for the 2026-2027 school year opens 07/15. Confirmation classes will be every other week starting 09/20. There are 11 in-class sessions with a final paper and an over night mandatory Confirmation retreat. The Confirmation classes will be on Sunday afternoons from 3:30-4:45.
  
  There will be a Confirmation Orientation for the students enrolled and their parents August 30th in the Holy Family Center from 3:30-4:45. Orientation is required for ALL of our students as well as least one parent present.
  
  The Diocese requires two consecutive years of faith formation leading up to the confirmation year for all confirmands. Faith Formation (called 'The Vine'), happens weekly on Sunday evenings from 6:15-7:45. The Vine (our faith formation high school gathering), and the Confirmation sessions are two separate programs!
  
  Teens can begin the Faith Formation preparation process in 9th grade - they are typically confirmed in the Spring of their 10th-grade year (after completing the required two-year preparation requirements.) Older teens, of course, are welcome to join!
- What happens at the Confirmation classes?
  
  We discuss the importance of the Sacrament and the role of the Holy Spirit in their lives, the fruits and gifts of the Holy Spirit, an overview of the Church's teachings on morality, Divine Revelation, Scriptures, the Church, and much more! Our time together will include large-group and small-group discussions, prayer, and time for any and all questions.
- What else does the confirmation program contain?
  
  A faith-filled adult, who is a practicing Catholic, will be chosen by the candidate to act as their Sponsor. Sponsors are welcome to sit in on any of the Confirmation classes and they are encouraged to do so! We will also have an overnight Confirmation Retreat where all confirmands are required to attend.
  
  Teens will also select a Confirmation Saint, where they will write a short reflection on why they chose that Saint, what are some of the things that Saint did during their life, and why they want to be Confirmed.
  
  To be a disciple means to do as Jesus did. Service in Jesus' name is integral to who we are as Christians. Service hours are required for all confirmands! Teens can participate in a variety of ways to make a difference in the lives of the underserved in our community. We will have multiple service opportunities during the year for all of our high school community.
- Family Registration
  
  The teen's family must be a currently registered family here at St. John Neumann. If you live in our parish's canonical boundaries and your family is not registered, please click HERE first before registering for our Youth Ministry programs.

  Parents must complete all necessary registration forms, submit copies of their teen's Baptism and First Holy Communion certificates, and pay the necessary Registration and Sacramental preparation fees to complete the registration process.
- HSM - High School Ministry
  
  High School Ministry's weekly event is called 'The Vine'. After the Sunday 5:00 pm Mass, we gather in the Holy Family Center from 6:15-7:45. Dinner will be provided each week. We look at scripture with weekly topics and small group discussion that follows.
  The Vine is what we offer for our High School faith formation, and these meetings are separate from the Confirmation classes!
  The Vine is where we want our teens to know that they are created in God's image, that they are loved, and that their lives matter. We want to go deeper in the faith, spend time and study in Sacred Scripture, discuss the teachings of the Church, spend time in Adoration, learn how to pray and why we need to, and come to see the importance of why we need to be rooted in a community of faith.
  We want our youth to come to an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ and to come to know and love God. We don't want our youth to just follow Jesus, but to become his disciples and be disciple makers!
